Former Hollyoaks’ star Nadine Mulkerrin has shared joyful photos of a recent holiday to the Portuguese resort of Abufeira, along with her fiancé and co-star Rory Douglas-Speed and their two sons Dougie and Reggie

‘Wonderful fun in the sun with the family and cousins! Beautiful memories made… ‘ she shared on her Instagram.

Photos showed the couple’s boys, Reggie and Dougie, looking cute and happy in the sun, while Rory and Nadine looked like they were having a great time relaxing and unwinding and having fun with the kids.

Nadine played popular character Cleo McQueen on the soap since 2015. She took maternity leave when she was expecting her second child, but soon after her departure she confirmed that the move was permanent.

She reflected on her time at Hollyoaks, including meeting Rory.

‘It’s been an amazing eight years at Hollyoaks,’ said said. ‘I’ve had the absolute ride and the best journey ever being in the iconic McQueen family.

‘I have been blessed with so many incredible storylines, arriving with the Pete and Cleo storyline, the powerful sexual abuse storyline, and then the impactful bulimia storyline which crescendo’d on my wedding day to my real-life fiancé, meeting Rory, and joining at 21 and leaving eight years later its been an incredibly special job.’

She added that the show ‘will always have a special place in my heart.’

Meanwhile Rory continues to play Joel Dexter in the show. Earlier this year his character was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, something that Rory himself has lived with since he was a child.

While Nadine and Rory’s family holiday looks idyllic, Nadine shared a detail that parents of young children will find extremely relatable.

‘Nursery was welcomed this morning … Jesus Christ I’m knackered !!!! 😅😅’ she wrote, with fans sympathising with the all too real struggle.

‘You always need another holiday after a holiday with kids!!’ one commented.

At least the family were able to enjoy a well-earned and idyllic rest, even if the return to reality was all to real!

Hollyoaks spoiler pictures for next week confirm the discovery of a sinister secret, plus a setback for one resident and a new chapter for another.

The majority of the latest snaps, which you can view in the gallery above, centre on newcomer Carter Shepherd (David Ames) and his big secret.

Ever since the head teacher arrived in the eponymous village, fans have speculated that he’s keeping a secret or at the very least that he’s not being honest about his motives in coming to Hollyoaks.

Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey) shares such a viewpoint, with upcoming scenes seeing her make it her mission to find out more about Carter, convinced he’s hiding something.

Carter, meanwhile, is determined to help John Paul McQueen (James Sutton), who is struggling following the homophobic attack in July, which took place outside The Loft.

In a bid to get the former teacher to face his demons, Carter encourages John Paul to return to the night-club, and intriguing scenes follow.

Carter will have some explaining to do, with Goldie catching him mid-conversation with an agitated stranger, discussing John Paul. Goldie reckons the newcomer has a crush on JP, but will this prove to be the case?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Hollyoaks airs these scenes between Monday September 18 and Friday September 22 on Channel 4, or watch first from Friday September 15 on E4 and All4.

It’s the end of the line for Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) in Hollyoaks next week and excuse us while we go have a little sob.

The popular duo, who first got together last year, have become entangled in a twisted web of lies and deceit in a bid to get their hands on Rafe Harcourt’s (Chris Gordon) fortune.

With Ethan having put the idea in her head, Sienna made it her mission to win Rafe’s affection, hoping to woo him into proposing so that she would become his wife and therefore have all the money she ever dreamed of.

Ethan, however, soon exhibited doubts about their plan, with he and Sienna spending more and more time apart in a bid to make it all the more convincing that they’ve separated.

Factor in Dilly (Emma Johnsey-Smith), Rafe’s clever little sister who got caught in the crossfire after Sienna planted drugs on her, and things have become seriously complicated.

Ethan has voiced his concerns to Sienna time and again, worried that she’s starting to fall for Rafe, but Sienna has reiterated that she only has eyes for Ethan, who found himself in a tricky situation last month when Dilly kissed him – and he reciprocated!

With her birthday on the cards next week, Dilly wants some company and, with Rafe not having paid her allowance, she turns her attention to Ethan, who helps her steal petty cash from her brother, but Ethan is soon left having to friendzone a persistent Dilly.

Sienna, meanwhile, grows closer to Rafe, who subsequently receives a message which stops him in his tracks, and thus he ends things with Sienna, much to her horror.

Despite Rafe’s decision, Sienna is determined not to give up on her plan to get Rafe’s cash, much to the dismay of Ethan, whose doubts about the whole thing reach new rights.

Dilly, meanwhile, proves to be the ally Sienna never knew she needed as she tries to convince Rafe to beg for Sienna’s forgiveness, hoping to reunite the two so that her brother isn’t all alone. Rafe seemingly takes his little sister’s advice on board, summoning Sienna, who wants to know why he keeps pushing her away.

In shocking scenes, Rafe revals that he knows she’s only after his money, offering her a cheque for £50,000 in return for her leaving him alone. Stunned, Sienna takes the cheque and tears it up, walking out.

Ethan is appalled to hear what Sienna has done, pleading with her to end the scheme once and for all but, when she refuses, he proceeds to question her over her feelings for Rafe. Sienna, however, turns the tables and quizzes him on his feelings for Dilly.

There have been sparks aplenty between Dilly and Ethan (Picture: Lime Pictures)

How will Ethan respond? The jury is still out on that one, but he subsequently finds Dilly drunk at The Loft, and she makes a shocking confession that changes everything.

In the aftermath, Ethan starts to crumble and confronts Sienna one last time to beg her to stop the scheme – for their future’s sake. Sienna, however, refuses to do so and, left with little choice, he issues her with an ultimatum.

Him or Rafe.

Sienna’s decision, or at least the way in which she delivers it, is being held back, but it’s not good news for Ethan, who is left heartbroken and, with nothing holding him back, he turns to Dilly, with things getting steamy between the two at The Loft.

Sienna, meanwhile, is taken aback when Rafe offers to help get the twins into a good school and, despite things initially going awry, the Earl tells her that he would like to offer Sophie and Sebastian places at the prestigious school – and the fees will be covered by the Harcourt trust.

How will Sienna respond? Will she fall for the Earl, like Ethan predicted? Or will she be so devastated over her split with Ethan that she’ll refuse Rafe’s offer?

Carter's secret confirmed as Goldie and Mercedes make discovery in Hollyoaks

Carter Shepherd (David Ames) has been something of a closed book since rocking up in Hollyoaks, leaving viewers convinced that the newcomer is harbouring a dark secret.

The high school head teacher certainly likes to play his cards pretty close to his chest, something which has piqued the interest of Goldie McQueen (Chelsee Healey), who is on a mission to find out more about him.

Disgruntled over the way Carter handled Freya Calder’s (Ellie Henry) crush on Hunter (Theo Graham), Goldie takes matters into her own hands and does some digging, sneaking into the school yard next week to quiz Freya on her dad.

Carter, however, spots the snooping McQueen, who is taken aback when he offers her a job in the school canteen, hoping to prove that he’s not the big bad wolf that Goldie believes him to be.

But despite Carter’s olive branch, Goldie is not for stopping this investigation and, believing she can use her new position to get to know him, she accepts the job.

Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), however, grows concerned over this vendetta, hoping she can make Goldie see sense, but Goldie reiterates her intention to take down Carter – as she heads to the school for her fist shift!

Hunter, meanwhile, finds a letter from Freya declaring her love for him, and he subsequently relays it to Carter, who proves more supportive than he expected, offering him some assistance and advice.

After giving it some thought, Hunter contemplates quitting teaching, especially now that it’s become public knowledge that Freya tried to kiss him, but his family urge him not to give up on his career.

Will Carter, or anyone else for that matter, be able to convince him to remain at the high school?

That remains to be seen, but the village’s newest head teacher is on hand to offer another McQueen some advice later in the week, coming to assist John Paul (James Sutton), who is still on edge following the homophobic attack in July.

Bringing up Finn O’Connor and all the trauma that John Paul has endured, Carter encourages him to face his demons by returning to The Loft.

John Paul takes such advice and even gets chatting to a lad named Billy, much to the surprise of Carter, who intervenes, urging Billy to leave JP well enough alone!

But why? Well, that is the question – and it’s one that John Paul wants an answer to after he catches his new mate mid-conversation with Billy.

Carter claims that he only intervened because he believes JP deserves someone better, but is he telling the truth?

We’re keeping tight-lipped on this, so you’ll just have to tune in and find out, but what we can tell you is that answers will be served up soon, as Goldie’s investigation into Carter proves surprisingly fruitful.

Carter is approached in the park by a stranger, who is agitated and in need of his help, and Goldie and Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) stumble upon the showdown between the two, with Goldie overhearing John Paul’s name being mentioned, leaving her convinced that Carter has a crush on John Paul.

But is her theory correct? Or is there another reason why John Paul was mentioned during this secretive conversation? Just what is Carter hiding?

Brent and Peri in Hollyoaks
Brent is very much alive, which could put Peri in a serious danger now that she’s uncovered the truth (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Hollyoaks is an expert at shock twists but even by the popular soap’s standards it’s latest is jaw-dropping, with Brent, Rayne Royce’s ex-lover who was thought to be dead, proving to be very much alive.

Rayne, played by Neighbours star Jemma Donovan, has caused nothing but havoc since rocking up in the eponymous village earlier this year, leaving chaos in her wake.

Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), however, knows full well that the social media influencer is not to be trusted, having caught her out on a twisted cancer lie, and therefore she’s made it her mission to expose her as a fraud.

That investigation led Peri to the home of Cheryl, who was mum to Brent, Rayne’s late boyfriend who tragically died.

Rayne has told the story of how her ex took his own life countless times, particularly when there was a camera involved.

Cheryl, meanwhile, had been leaving heartbreaking comments on Rayne’s social media page, which sparked Peri’s interest as she set out to track down the grieving mum, hoping to get the evidence she needed to bring Rayne down.

Peri and Brent in Hollyoaks
Peri stumbled upon the truth earlier this week (Picture: Lime Pictures)

But a shock twist in Friday’s (September 8) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap saw Peri stunned to silence as she realised that Brent isn’t actually dead.

This is just the beginning, however, as Peri will subsequently come face-to-face with Brent, with actor Jesse Fox having joined the cast of the show.

Expect fireworks!

Peri and Brent in Hollyoaks
Peri, however, soon finds herself in serious danger (Picture: Lime Pictures)

The question is: will the mysterious Brent assist Peri in her plot to expose Rayne? Or, despite her heinous actions, does his loyalties still lie with the manipulative influencer?

Well, given that Monday’s (September 11) outing of the serial saw Brent attack Peri at Rayne’s request, it’s pretty safe to say it’s the latter option!

But will Peri be okay? That remains to be seen.

Discussing his casting, Jesse said: ‘I was very excited when I got the part. It was so cool to be a part of such a big storyline that the show has been building up to for a while.

‘Brent adores Rayne and has very much not given up on them being together. The nature of their relationship has taken him to a place where he’s totally lost perspective and his sense of self, which in turn makes him quite dangerous. He’d pretty much do anything to try and make Rayne happy.

Brent in Hollyoaks
Brent’s loyalties seemingly lie with Rayne (Picture: Lime Pictures)

‘I think people may understandably be hostile towards him because – being in that Rayne whirlpool – he makes some seriously big mistakes.

‘You can expect clashes and fireworks with the likes of Peri and Romeo.

‘But actually, I think he and Romeo have a lot in common and I hope people will also gradually see why he’s making these mistakes and find moments of empathy with Brent as a character.

‘Trying to capture that balance has been one of the really fun challenges of playing him.’

Brent’s first appearance airs on E4 on Tuesday September 12, with the Channel 4 airing the following day on Wednesday September 13.

Rayne, meanwhile, will meet her end as part of a huge stunt week later this month, which will see her storyline conclude.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 7pm on E4 or stream first on All4.

Former Hollyoaks star Abi Phillips was taken to hospital while on holiday in Ibiza.

The actress, who played the first iteration of Liberty Savage on the Channel 4 soap, took to social media to update her followers, posting a story from her hospital bed.

In the snap, Abi showed her arm, with bandages visible and a cannula inserted. Her hospitalisation comes after she had her phone stolen.

‘1 stolen phone and 18 hours in A&E later’, she wrote as a caption on the picture, which was accompanied by an upside down emoji.

The former soap star subsequently shared a post on her Instagram profile, having ultimately enjoyed her stay Ibiza.

‘Suing Ibiza for theft and attempted murder’, she stated, with a laugh emoji.

‘It was worth it though.’

The 28-year-old revealed last year that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

‘I never thought I would be told that I have cancer at the age of 28, you never think it’s going to happen to you,’ she wrote in a lengthy post, revealing her diagnosis to her fans.

Abi added that she wouldn’t have pushed to see a specialist if it weren’t for Love Island star Demi Jones sharing her thyroid cancer ordeal on social media, and realised that their lumps were ‘in the exact same place’.

The actress found fame on Hollyoaks at the age of 16 when she debuted as Liberty in 2010. She also famously wrote the song Missing You that featured in Steph Cunningham’s death scene, and departed the show in 2013.

Liberty returned to screens five years after Abi’s exit, with actress Jessamy Stoddart taking over the role.

Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) received a major shock in Hollyoaks on Friday (September 8) while digging into Rayne Royce’s (Jemma Donovan) past, finding out that her ex, Brent, is actually still alive.

Brent, as viewers know, was thought to have taken his own life several years ago, with Rayne often referring to his tragic suicide and the effect it had on her during her live streams.

But if we’ve learned anything about the influencer during her time in the eponymous village, it’s that not a single word of hers can be trusted, with her having lied and manipulated many of her fellow twenty-somethings.

Desperate for attention, Rayne lied about finding a lump to distract Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner), who was grieving the loss of his sister Juliet (Niamh Blackshaw), who died from cancer.

She then claimed Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) attempted to assault her, and lied about having self-harmed in the aftermath to make Romeo feel for her. The very same Romeo, who she later assaulted.

Peri, meanwhile, has been on to Rayne, determined to find out the truth about what she’s been up to, with recent scenes seeing her make a huge breakthrough in a bid to find out what the social media star is hiding.

Due to scheduling changes, a double-bill of the Channel 4 soap aired on E4 on Friday, and therefore viewers saw a major twist earlier than expected, as Peri made her way to the home of Cheryl, Brent’s mum, hoping to get some information on what happened to her son.

Rayne makes a new enemy in Hollyoaks
Rayne’s lies are about to catch up with her (Picture: Lime Pictures)

But in shocking scenes, it was confirmed that Brent is actually alive.

This of course leaves us with questions galore.

Did Brent stage his own death? Did manipulative Rayne put him up to it? Just what does this all actually mean?

We’re keeping tight-lipped on that, we’re afraid, so you’ll just have to tune in to find out when the next episode hits screens, but what we can confirm is that Peri will find herself in danger in subsequent episodes.

Rayne, meanwhile, will meet a shocking end in a special stunt week, set to air later in the month. But will Peri, or Brent, for that matter, prove to be her downfall?

Sam in Hollyoaks
Sam has said goodbye following a shock set-up (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Sam Chen-Williams (Matthew McGivern) has waved goodbye to Hollyoaks after his entire family refused to believe that he’d been set up over pictures of Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) found in his car.

The former policeman, as viewers know, was previously obsessed with Zoe, who he’d been in a relationship with, exhibiting some disturbing behaviour when their romance came to an end.

From gaining entry to her flat without her permission to refusing to accept her decision to have a termination, his obsession left Zoe seriously concerned.

Sam eventually acknowledged that he was at fault, apologising profusely over what he did and later accompanied Zoe to her termination appointment in a bid to make amends.

He and Zoe have been on relatively good terms since. Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan), however, scuppered his reputation when she stole his phone and sent stalker-level text messages to Zoe from the device in a bid to destroy the Chen-Williams’ picture perfect family.

Her reasons were due to Lizzie (Lily Best) being picked by Faye Fuller (Madelyn Smedley) for a social media promotion over her, and therefore Rayne made it her mission to ruin Lizzie and her clan.

Sam professed his innocence over the situation, with Lizzie eventually believing him, but things took a shocking turn when pictures of Zoe were found in the former policeman’s car, in what appeared to be a creepy shrine to his ex.

Again, Sam reiterated that this was nothing to do with him, desperate to convince those around him that he’d been set up. But despite his best efforts, no-one took his word for it, with Dave (Dominic Power) and Lizzie refusing to believe him.

Mason (Frank Kauer), however, did support him, which Sam appreciated, but with his reputation in tatters and little support from his loved ones he decided to up sticks and leave the village.

Subsequent scenes confirmed that it wasn’t actually Rayne who set him up the second time. It was Hunter McQueen (Theo Graham), who took shocking action to get Sam out of the village and away from Zoe.

But have we seen the last of Sam? Will Hunter right his wrong? And will Sam be back if so?

Rayne Royce with a microphone in Hollyoaks
She has caused nothing but pain – and now she will get her comeuppance (Picture Lime Pictures)

Controversial Hollyoaks villain Rayne Royce is about to get a very violent comeuppance – as she will be murdered in a whodunnit twist in just weeks.

The character, played with expert malice by Jemma Donovan, has caused nothing but malice since her arrival in the village earlier this year – but someone will decide that it’s her turn.

There can be no shortage of suspects either, given how many residents she has targeted.

Rayne has been gaslighting and manipulating the twenty-somethings of the eponymous village for months, using some to further her career while others are pushed away in a bid to have Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) all to herself.

Most shockingly, she made a vile and false allegation against Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), and he has now teamed up with Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) to expose her and bring her down.

They did some particular digging into Rayne’s ex, Brent, who took his own life. In horrifying scenes, Rayne boasted that she encouraged him to do so.

But things take a turn, with Peri set to receive some truly mind-blowing information in the process.

One thing leads to another, and she’s left in serious danger after more secrets about Rayne’s past are exposed.

With Rayne closing in, Peri’s own life is in danger as she prepares to drop the bombshell on the calculating local.

Peri is missing, and those around her are petrified for her safety.

This is just scratching the surface of her evil antics, and there are several people who will want to end her reign.

But who kills her remains to be seen.

Hollyoaks has released a teaser from its upcoming trailer, showing, among other moments, many of the suspects declaring that they would choose to kill Rayne.

We also see Rayne herself declaring that the old Rayne is dead and Rayne 2.0 is here, after submerging herself in a swimming pool.

End of the line for Rayne 2.0 (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Well, she’s half right!

It’s been a story that actress Jemma Donovan has known about since she joined. On her exit, she told us: ‘I am so excited to announce that Rayne’s reign is finally coming to an end with an incredible stunt week that I am over the moon to share with.

‘You guys, it’s going to be full of drama, full of love, full of chaos but the big question is, who did it?

‘I’m so excited for the speculation. I can’t tell you – but it’s a good one so hope you all enjoy.’

The show is planning a major week of drama at the end of the month, involving stunts and a murder mystery manor, marked with an hour long special.

The mansion may be the last place Rayne sees – given the party is led by Faye Fuller (Maddy Smedley), the likeness to The Traitors can’t be ignored.

Now she has targeted Peri, who is in serious danger (Picture: Lime Pictures)

We’re not exactly sure if the murderer will be exposed on a round-table via a chalkboard, but we aren’t ruling out more similarities.

Daughter of Neighbours, theatre and pop icon Jason, Jemma has made quite the impression on fans.

At the time of the casting, she enthused: ‘I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be able to bring something unique and fun to a new role and I can’t wait to be a part of the Hollyoaks family.’

She is currently dating co-star Owen Warner, and the pair sarcastically and brilliantly dismissed recent rumours that they had split.

Hollyoaks cast picture for 2023
The Hollyoaks ensemble have big changes to come (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Channel 4 has announced major changes to the schedule, with the most prominent news being the removal of Hollyoaks from the main channel.

But fear not, there is absolutely no indication that the soap is being axed, or even in any trouble.

With a demographic of young people, who are more likely to watch E4 and binge online, the focus of the show will be alongside that strategy.

In 2023 64% of viewers have watched the soap via streaming or E4, resulting in 556 million minutes of the show being streamed in the first half of the year.

As a result, Hollyoaks will continue to air as normal on E4, and episodes will now debut 24 hours earlier online, making that the main platform to go to if you want a very quick Hollyoaks fix.

To clarify, this will be a 7:30pm first look online, followed by an E4 airing of 7pm. The weekend omnibus will still air on Channel 4, as well as episodes being uploaded to YouTube the following week for the first time.

Felix and Warren at the quarry in Hollyoaks
It’s going to kick off in stunt week! (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Don’t spoil it for your friends though, that won’t make you popular. Actually, does that make us hypocrites? Maybe.

The change will launch on the big stunt week on September 25, where Hollyoaks is going all out with action packed spectacle, and a visit to a mansion led by The Traitors star Maddy Smedley, who is playing Faye Fuller.

Faye Fuller. Get it?

Across this week, tensions between Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) will reach boiling point, leading to a massive showdown.

Which can only mean that Warren’s tryst with Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is about to be exposed.

As a treat for fans, they will therefore be able to watch the build up episode followed by the hour long special online in a massive Hollyoaks-fest.

Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer, Ian Katz told Metro.co.uk: ‘Hollyoaks has always been the youngest and most innovative soap so it’s fitting that it should be the first to embrace the changes in the behaviour of younger viewers and switch to a genuinely digital-led release pattern.

‘It was the first UK soap to move to a stream-first model last year and this is the next phase of that evolution.

‘We hope making Hollyoaks available on YouTube, as well as our own platforms, will introduce a whole new generation to the show.’

Rayne makes a new enemy in Hollyoaks
Rayne sank to another new low, making a number of shock enemies in the process (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan) proved that playing nice simply isn’t an option for her in Hollyoaks on Thursday (September 7) as she set out to destroy her competition.

The influencer, as viewers know, has made many an enemy since rocking up in the eponymous village earlier this year, using people to get what she wants and then discarding them at a moment’s notice.

Her lies have torn friends and families apart, with boyfriend Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) missing his own sister’s funeral due to her cancer lie, which piqued the suspicions of Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), who has since launched an investigation into exposing her.

If that wasn’t twisted enough, Rayne subsequently spiked Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer), who she then claimed tried to sexually assault her in a bid to drive a wedge between he and Romeo.

Her behaviour has since spiralled, with scenes seeing her lie about self-harming, in addition to staging an argument for clout from her followers, before showing her true nature when she attacked Romeo in a heated altercation.

With her career in tatters thanks to a video shared by Peri, Rayne is on a mission to save her image, hoping manager Faye Fuller (Madelyn Smedley) will come to her rescue. Faye, however, has been distracted by Lizzie Chen-Williams (Lily Best) this week, believing her to be perfect for a promotion run by another of her clients.

Sam was offended by Rayne's cruel words in Hollyoaks

Rayne seethed with jealousy, trying to get Faye to use her instead, but Faye made it quite clear that the influencer wasn’t exactly what this client of hers was after! Rayne ignored her manager’s advice to be nice and instead resorted to cruelty, badmouthing Lizzie online, criticising her look.

Lizzie was left upset, with Sam (Matthew McGivern) stepping in to defend his sister, but the former policeman made a grave error in leaving his phone behind as he stormed out.

Rayne texted Zoe from Sam's phone in Hollyoaks
Rayne texted Zoe from Sam’s phone (Picture: Lime Pictures)

In a bid to destroy Lizzie’s chances of being involved in Faye’s family-centric promotion with her clan, Rayne stole Sam’s phone and sent Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) some shocking text messages.

Zoe confronted Sam, ordering him to leave her alone, believing that he was yet again overstepping the boundaries and exhibiting controlling behaviour. Sam professed his innocence, urging her to believe that he wasn’t responsible for the messages, but Zoe refused to listen, with even Lizzie showing doubts.

So soon after posting the video of Hunter McQueen (Theo Graham) with student Freya Calder (Ellie Henry), which didn’t look good for the teacher when taken out context, it seems Rayne has made yet another enemy in Sam.

The question is: will this prove to be her downfall? The influencer’s reign of terror will conclude in a shocking stunt week, set to air later this month, so only time will tell.

Hollyoaks continues Friday September 8 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.

Jeremy Edwards
Jeremy has said goodbye to the acting world (Picture: Getty)

Hollyoaks star Jeremy Edwards has opened up about his new career after leaving the acting industry.

The actor, best known for his role as Kurt Benson in the Channel 4 soap, has swapped the showbiz world to become a drama teacher.

Jeremy, 52, decided to leave his talent agency after a brief return to Hollyoaks in 2020.

He said: ‘There are so many reasons why you can be out of work and I thought, this is so unpredictable and I have a family. I thought I’ve got thirty years of experience here, what am I doing?

‘I could be helping people’, he added while speaking to The Sun.

‘So I started doing some classes with people helping them with scripts and speeches and then it slowly developed into a business and now I work with various groups and I’m teaching kids in Hampshire.’

‘Sometimes I do five or six classes a week. Sometimes I will only do one or two.’

Jeremy made his arrival as Kurt Benson in Hollyoaks back in 1995. He departed in 1999, with Kurt’s sister being told he died in a jet ski accident.

During his return in 2020, Jeremy was hopeful it would eventually lead into a more permanent comeback.

Coronavirus impacted how long Jeremy’s return was (Picture: Lime)

However, due to Coronavirus impacting filming, the time at his old stomping ground wasn’t as long as he thought.

He said: ‘I was supposed to be there for six months to a year, but COVID impacted that massively. They brought me in, which I thought was a mistake because it wasn’t what I thought it should have been. There was so many restrictions with filming that I couldn’t go near anyone and I only had one storyline.

‘I was in and out in less than three months with the promise that they’d bring me back properly when things calmed down but I haven’t heard anything.’

During Kurt’s return in 2020, he revealed to Tony that he’s only alive because his roommate in a hostel had been hit by the jet ski back in the 90s, leading to IDs being switched and falsely identifying the body as Kurt’s.

Phoenix and Charlie hug in Hollyoaks
Phoenix revealed his new name to Charlie in emotional scenes (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Hollyoaks has aired powerful scenes yet again this week, with Tylan Grant’s character opening up to Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan), revealing that he has changed his name to Phoenix and now identifies as a man.

The popular regular character, who works at The Love Boat, confided in Charlie, who has been struggling with his mental health over the past few months, with scenes earlier this week seeing him attempt to take his own life.

Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) managed to track him down and save him before it was too late, with Charlie subsequently being hospitalised with secondary drowning.

Charlie refused to seek help – until Oscar (Noah Holdsworth) paid him a visit, asking him not to go, hoping he would instead stay to look after him. Emotional, Charlie promised that he wouldn’t be going anywhere, as he vowed to seek help.

Wednesday’s first look offering of the Channel 4 soap saw the teen return home, and there was conflict aplenty between he and Darren once more, as he reconsidered counselling.

Hoping to offer support, Phoenix approached Charlie and proceeded to give him a hug, with Charlie subsequently asking his sibling to tell him anything as a way to distract him. It was at this point that Phoenix revealed his new name, before proceeding to explain to Charlie that he’s a man.

‘For Ripley, non-binary was exactly who they were,’ said Phoenix. ‘But for me, I knew I wasn’t a girl. There was a big part of myself that I was suppressing and I can admit that now.

‘I’m a guy’.

Charlie, in typical Charlie fashion, proved supportive, and subsequently received some advice from Phoenix, who shared his perspective on the teen’s struggles.

Charlie isn’t the only one who proves supportive either, with Darren and Jack (Jimmy McKenna) both delighted that Phoenix felt able to trust them with his news in upcoming scenes.

Discussing the storyline, Tylan said: ‘I hope people enjoy the story and will learn something from it, especially with Charlie’s reaction and the rest of the Osborne family.

‘It’s very daunting and not an easy thing to realise who you are and then announce who you are, whether that’s in a big proximity or a small one.

‘The responses we see from the characters are something to really look up to,’ he continued to Digital Spy. I’m really proud of what’s been done and I’m excited for Phoenix’s future.’

Tylan, who underwent transition surgery earlier this year, shared his ‘joy’ following the surgery. ‘To my trans family – euphoria and liberation is our birthright.

‘Please never give up on it, our happiness is worth it!!!’

Tylan’s friends and loved ones were quick to comment, with mum Carrie writing: ‘You are a light, you are brave and strong and I champion you my son. #ProudMama’.

Charlie and Darren hug in Hollyoaks
Charlie told Darren just how much he loved him as he explained how he’s been feeling as of late following his attempt on his own life (Picture: Lime Pictures)

Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) gave dad Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) the tightest of hugs in Hollyoaks on Wednesday (September 6), telling him how much he loved him.

The teen, as viewers know, attempted to take his own life earlier this week, with one traumatic and upsetting event after another having impacted on his mental health.

Darren managed to save him in the nick of time, with Charlie later taken to hospital with secondary drowning. Despite initially refusing to seek help for his depression, the school boy reconsidered after a heart-to-heart with Oscar (Noah Holdsworth), who pleaded with him not to ‘go’.

Wednesday’s E4 offering of the Channel 4 soap saw Charlie discharged and, to Darren’s dismay, he had no intention of getting in touch with a therapist, throwing the contact details in the bin.

Darren urged him to at least keep hold of the details, putting them away in a safe place. Charlie thought long and hard about what he’d said and, after a heart-to-heart with Phoenix Hathaway (Tylan Grant), he called Nancy (Jessica Fox) to explain what had happened.

Nancy urged him to come out to America for a change of scenery, but Charlie declined, telling Darren that he’d much rather stay with him, which left Darren somewhat touched as he approached his son and gave him a big hug.

‘I love you Darren’, said an emotional Charlie, much to the shock to Darren, who replied by telling the teen that he loves him too.

Taking the advice he’d received from Phoenix, Charlie started to open up, revealing to Darren that he doesn’t think he wanted to die.

‘It felt like I couldn’t cope with one thing and then something else would happen and I couldn’t cope with that – and then something else and something else and something else,’ he started, discussing his feelings.

‘It was all getting stacked up. It was like I didn’t have the tools to cope with anything at all’.

Darren, fighting tears, was quick to offer him comfort, telling him to come to him if he ever feels like that again.

Charlie promised that he would do so. ‘You have got the tools’, added the loving dad. ‘Maybe you’ve just not found them yet.’

The two shared another hug as Charlie thanked Darren for all of his love and support.

Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) vowed to get help for his depression in Hollyoaks on Tuesday (September 5) after little brother Oscar Osborne (Noah Holdsworth) asked him not to ‘go’.

Monday’s (September 4) outing of the Channel 4 soap saw Charlie attempt to take his own life, going to the beach and walking into the sea after leaving a goodbye message for Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) in the sand.

Darren raced to the beach and into the sea, dragging his son from the treacherous waves, with some assistance from Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), getting him safely to shore.

In the aftermath of the ordeal, Darren begged Charlie to talk, wanting to know if he was attempting to taking his own life.

Charlie struggled to open up, urging his dad to stop talking, but a subsequent heart-to-heart saw the teen admit that, in that moment, he wanted to end it all, but that, upon walking into the sea, he regretted his decision.

Darren was quick to tell him that the fact he wanted to live was a good thing, reiterating that he knows what he’s going through, recalling his own battle with depression and how his loved ones, namely Charlie, helped him through it.

Charlie was taken aback by his revelation but things took a shocking turn when, after a number of coughs, he lost consciousness, with doctors confirming that he suffered from secondary drowning.

Sharon Bailey (Jamelia) informed Darren that, physically, Charlie would make a full recovery, but she was keen to know why he was in the water in the first place, recommending that he speak to a crisis team.

Charlie, however, insisted against such a thing, claiming that the situation was an accident, which left Darren feeling utterly helpless, knowing that Charlie must acknowledge that he needs help.

Oscar, meanwhile, arrived with at the hospital with Jack (Jimmy McKenna) and, while Darren filled his dad in on what had happened, the little boy made his way into Charlie’s room with a snakes and ladders game in his hand.

Darren and Jack watched from the window as Oscar detailed his worries and concerns to Charlie, revealing that he knows just how much his big brother has been struggling, believing it to be his fault.

Charlie, horrified at the notion, was quick to explain to Oscar that what happened was not his fault, using snakes and ladders to help his sibling understand what he’s going through, commenting that he feels like the ‘snake sliding down’ while everyone else is ‘on a ladder’.

Understanding perfectly, Oscar responded by asking Charlie to not ‘go’, making reference to Kyle Kelly (Adam Rickitt), who tragically took his own life a number of years ago, revealing that he will be left ‘alone and scared’ without his big brother to look after him.

‘Who will play with me then?’, he signed.

Fighting tears, Charlie reassured Oscar that he’s not going anywhere, with subsequent scenes seeing him promise Darren that he would seek help for what he’s going through.

Darren reiterated his love for both boys in emotional scenes, helmed by beautiful performances from all involved, particularly Charlie Behan and Noah Holdsworth.

Hollyoaks continues Wednesday September 6 at 7pm on E4 or stream the next episode from midnight on All4.

Tearful Jorgie Porter on Loose Women

Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has opened up about the surgery she had to undergo after miscarrying quads.

The Theresa McQueen actress welcomed her son Forest with fiancé Ollie Piotrowski in November 2022, but his birth followed a tragedy when Jorgie lost her quadruplets at 14 weeks in 2021.

During the latest episode of Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast, Happy Mum Happy Baby, Jorgie has been discussing becoming pregnant with quadruplets and the emotional ordeal she went through after being told the embryos had stopped developing.

‘We obviously thought, this is a huge risk. There’s all these complications and all these scary moments of what could happen’, she explained.

‘I don’t remember them [the doctors and nurses] talking much about quads, because they’d never come across this!

‘I don’t think they had much to say to us about it but we’d obviously Google stuff, and you just see the most extreme things.

‘You can lose one, you can lose two, and then they spoke about terminating one and terminating two and I thought, I am not going to take one away from a pack.’

‘It was about three or four months later on in the scans, they were like, “now they’ve not developed any further, we’re going to have to get rid of them, take them out.’

Discussing the surgery that followed, Jorgie said: ‘They gave us four options and explained the risks are really high. They said that we could wait for them to release on their own but I thought, I can’t be on set and a floodgate opens!
My hormones were insane so, you just want to get them out. I told them I wanted to go under surgery and be unconscious and just wanted to not be traumatised by this moment.

‘They had to talk to us about how dangerous it is because they didn’t know how much blood I would lose. They said there’s a chance I might not survive, this was really sad for me as well because nobody knew what was going to happen. It was really scary. We wanted the womb to be intact as well because we still want to try for a baby.’

She added: ‘It was a pretty massive, daunting day but I felt confident we just had to do it and be strong.’

In the aftermath, Jorgie made sure to support partner Ollie, who struggled to open up about the loss of the babies.

‘We were arguing and stuff’, she said.

‘I said to him, you have to tell me what you’re feeling and thinking because you keep it in a bit at times. He let loose and told me everything. It’s not just me, the mum, that’s been through this, Ollie as the dad has suffered loss. He’s not able to do anything physically, emotionally, it was a helpless position to be in and he felt like he couldn’t say anything at the time.’

Jorgie also spoke to Giovanna about the moment she fell pregnant with Forrest, revealing that the ordeal with the quads understandably impacted her reaction to the news.

‘I told friends and family around us and they were a bit on pins because no one wanted to get excited for us. I thought, okay, we can’t really tell everyone again but I told my closest friends as I needed the support.

‘We had to get to the milestones before I let us get excited. I remember Ollie going, let’s go to the Trafford Centre and get a baby grow! I felt like a bit of a fraud. I was like, I don’t know. But I had a big bump, and I was waddling and then thought, it’s time to do these things.

‘We got the baby grow and a blanket. And I was like, “Oh my god. Okay, I think we can get excited!”.’
